Going through YYZ security this afternoon it was packed.
What I found surprising, though, is how few people lined up in the priority lane. Just a handful.
So, based on that unscientific count, perhaps only 2-5 percent of us are frequent fliers. Are Airlines just realizing that those loyalty programs aren't giving them the traction they seek? Maybe they only appeal to such a small segment that it's not worth having at all.
In which case I can see why AC thinks Elites are just a cheap load to carry. More trouble than it's worth. Or whatever.
anyhow, Y is oversold and J is just filling with eUPs and op ups. Little wonder they are ripping j seats out and cramming more y in their planes.
That still leaves the question how AC wants to fulfill their dream of competing with the 5 star international carriers.
